‍What is your role at the company, and what does it involve? I am  Nonsuch’s Community Engagement Producer, and I deliver Nonsuch’s extensive Community programme, from in-school theatre projects, heritage community projects, to large-scale community events.

What is your background in theatre, the arts, or creative industries? With training in Contemporary Dance from De Montfort University, I started as a dance teacher and choreographer, specialising in inclusive practices. I have worked across the creative sector, in dance, music, visual art, and theatre!

What inspires you in your work or artistic practice? For me, creativity and fun are at the heart of everything I do. I believe that humans are inherently creative, and having the opportunity to express their creativity is one of the most powerful tools. Whether it's learning a new creative skill, seeing an extraordinary piece of art, or making your own creative work, art can help us understand the world around us and help us understand ourselves. I am passionate about making art and cultural experiences accessible for everyone.

Do you have a favourite project or moment in your career so far? My inclusive dance work took me to  Cambodia, where I worked for two years as dance and drama lead with Epic Arts. There, I led the inclusive arts course for 2 years, teaching a group of Deaf, disabled and nondisabled young people.  We made performances together which toured the country!

What do you enjoy outside of work? Outside of work, I am either learning British Sign Language, practising with my band or coming last at the weekly pub quiz!
