Takeover funded by Arts Council and Department of Digital, Media and Sports, this project ran by Captivate and Partners worked with young people +14 from Mansfield & Ashfield to take part with new arts and creative volunteering and skills development programme.

Young People took part in an intensive 3-month arts and cultural training programme as well as a youth-led festival outside of school hours which includes:

Training and skills workshops

Online mentoring

Challenge-Work experience

Go and See trips

Entrepreneurial skills

Future career and education advice

Be part of planning and delivering a large-scale Youth Festival

DepARTment Festival took place in the abandoned Debenhams at the 4 seasons Shopping Centre in Mansfield Shopping Centre. Each group had their own department to turn it into their own creative celebration!

Young people worked with amazing artists to create exhibitions, photography, large scale puppets, original music and performances, Circus arts and activities and much more!
